This offering is all b-boy, science seeker with a heavy dose of bump for the car speakers. Trust that only thugs would have beef with the luscious string arrangements or cleverly laced samples. Backpackers will be content with Radar’s first full-length. It’s laced with classic samples that true heads appreciate. Though it isn’t the year’s ground-breaker, this CD keeps any hip-hop vibe session on point. In Radar Ellis’s world, the streets are hard, life is grimy but positivity supersedes.
