Dirty Disco (A Side)

This trio of UK breakbeat brothers, collectively known as Specimen A, is quickly carving out a name for themselves in the breaks world. “Dirty Disco”, the more original work of the release, makes use of a simple yet groovy and undoubtedly driving breakbeat throughout the entire track. However this track’s beauty lies within creative drum edits, multiple layers of interrelated synth patterns, and a vocoded vocal hook that doesn’t disappoint. “Dirty Disco” progresses in a hurry, eventually builds into an aural frenzy, then follows up with one cliffhanger of a breakdown. Just when the original hook is expected to resurface, a refreshing new anthemic melody kicks in to finish this “two-in-one” banger.

Pop the Pin (B Side)

Mix one part nu skool breaks with one part drum ‘n bass. Add a splash of futuristic synth programming and a triple shot of bass. Serve at 140 beats per minute and what do you have? The latest Specimen A tearout symphony “Pop the Pin”! Creative rhyming vocals, intricately programmed drum patterns and a barrage of floor shaking bass define this massive track. Complete with the typical tearout breakbeat treatment, Specimen A keeps things interesting with clever drum, tempo and pattern swing edits throughout. As the tearout sound gains momentum, look for Specimen A at the front of the pack.
