Lower 48

If you’re looking for a proper hangout in Lexington, Kentucky, Lower 48 keeps its reputation for good tunes and drinks.

For three friends (Shawn Sewell, Nate ‘FX’ Eldridge and Sarai Steward) who decided back in the day to open up a bar in hopes of flourishing the EDM scene, they’ve done just that.

And they’ve got a wide array of spirits from Boddingtons to Abita Purple Haze to tempt your tastebuds, too.

Lower 48 hosts several monthly events and late-night DJ sessions in rotation.

Wednesdays are home to “Dance” starting at 10 p.m. Every Friday night, Nate FX mixes it up with house and 80s. On Saturdays, Nate FX, The Snowman and Jenny Nashville host “Retro Rewind,” delivering the hits of the 70s, 80s and 90s, with no door cover starting at 12 a.m. following live band performances.

On the monthly tip, every fourth Friday Lexington house music staple Trevor Lamont promotes "Organic." And, for those heads that dig the electro scene, you can come out once a month to "Dirty-Butt Gospel" hosted by DJ John the Baptist.

Lower 48 is located in the Victorian Square at
401 West Main St.
Suite 30
Lexington, KY 40507

Hours – Tuesday through Saturday, 7 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
