Somewhere in the midst of North Carolina, there’s another state-side artist that’s been making his soulful mark within the drum ’n bass scene. Nathan Hayes, known to most as steering the production of former duo Basic Operations, has parted with his partner to pave his own path toward rediscovering his sound.
“Making a choice to go solo and end Basic Operations didn’t come easy,” says Nathan, who now works under the moniker Atlantic Connection. “I did however feel it was time for me to express myself creatively as an individual.” With such ambition, and desire to move on with his future movement, Nathan has now reinvented himself for 2006. Be on the look out as Atlantic Connection is already pushing releases from labels such as Dispatch and Creative Source, while others like Hospital and Liquid V have begun to take notice. Also, look forward to a remix of DJ Marky and XRS’s “Get Down” and a collaboration with Tali.
