Lifted (l ft-ed): to direct or carry from a lower to a higher position.

With a lot of the drum and bass coming out, it may be hard to keep tabs on what is what, and who is who in the production world. But just like its name suggests, this recently launched UK-based label is single-handedly going to lift drum 'n bass up to new plains. Whoever said that sky's the limit must be late.

Lifted Music rises from its infancy with a fresh new sound and something brand new to drum 'n bass. Chris Renegade, the man behind the label and ex-manager of Hardware and Barcode, is responsible for managing some of the top drum 'n bass artists. Backed by his business mind and great ear for potential, Chris possesses years of intense label management and A and R experience.

Already on the Lifted lineup are dnb heavyweights Evol Intent, Ewun, Unknown Error and Spor representing both stateside and English drum 'n bass. The label's first release, "The Prologue" will drop as a 2 x Vinyl and Digital MP3 release, featuring four tracks from all the current Lifted Music artists. The message to the masses by these artists is clear: We are here, and we are Lifted.

Spor comes with "Knock You Down" for the A side displaying euphoric pads and evolving percussion flows into an electro industrial drone of organic, breathing bass and pounding beats. Think grunge for drum 'n bass. The B side is a track from Evol Intent, "Glock Part" so, yeah you guessed it more thugged-out sounds for your ears. With this one, get ready for techno-industrial atmospherics and a vicious dropkick. It'll bring you into the ghetto of your town damaging you with oscillating breaks and bass. For the C side, Ewun is coming with "ScrewUp" which is getting serious pullbacks on a global level. This one is being described as a unique slice of electro gangster sleaze. Beats will jerk you around as the bass fizzes, warps and pops in and out of the sequence with the no-holds-barred vocal. "Sucker Punch" from Unknown Error, closes out the pack. Rightfully named, it brings a fist to your temple after teasing you and building anticipation with an uplifting, atmospheric orchestral arrangement in the intro. Before you know it, it collapses into savage, manipulated bass stabs for a ruthless, epic drop. That's when it hits ya. Take it; don't duck out.
