Trance fans have reason to cheer. Harthouse labelhead Sven Vath is billed in one of the headlining spots at this year's noticeably renamed Movement Electronic Music Festival. (Last year, Paxahau dubbed the fest, "Movement: Detroit's Electronic Music Festival." In previous years, the once free festival was also called "Detroit Electronic Music Festival or affectionately DEMF" and held the short-lived title, "Fuse In.")
Regardless what it's called, the venue and holiday weekend remain unchanged. This year's event takes place Memorial Day weekend, May 28-30 at Hart Plaza in downtown Detroit, Michigan. The festival is in its 11th year.
Other early-announced artists include Detroit DJ Collective, VisionQuest (Seth Troxler, Ryan Crosson, Shaun Reeves and Lee Curtis). Drum 'n bass pioneer Goldie and a live set from Green Velvet, known for his Chicago-house roots and often genre-crossing sets, also take top spots.
Here's a handful of other artists you can expect at the festival. (Listed in alphabetical order.)
